Since I can't get on the USM board anymore and requested unblacklisting...

M.K. Turk has passed away this morning...I found out about 10 a.m. eastern time.

One of the first college basketball coaches in the state of Mississippi that I can remember growing up. Sad that they haven't even posted an article on the their athletic page as of this moment.

Really? And Golden Eagle fans, I am one too, wonder why their athletics are in shambles. They can't even honor someone who had a good history at the school on the day they pass away.

R.I.P. Coach Turk.

MSU 17 OM 10 OT

I am a gamecock fan and I want to congratulate the MSU Bullies for winning tonight's Egg Bowl over Ole Miss. I like Dan Mullen and you people need to be horsewhipped for trying to get rid of Coach Mullen. In Spurrier's first five years at USC is the exact same as Mullen's after five years 35-28 and with all the young talent coming back for MSU you folks will do fine. I congratulate also QB Dak Prescott for he is the heart and soul of the Bulldog Nation. 4 straight bowls which means 15 more practices for the Bullies and it looks like you folks are heading to Birmingham. You folks got an early Christmas present tonight.

2nd part to the Mullen safe thread- Robbie?

I am not trolling but I had a big MSU supporter in my office who was a huge mullen fan at one time. When I said something about Connecticut , his response was "I hope so".

When I pressed him on it he basically said that look at our recruits which I pulled up. I have never been a * guy but he said the only way we fill out the class is with 2* kids that will get another star just by committing to an SEC school. On the recruiting front he basically said "when we are excited about getting 2* kids from MRA who no one wants we have issues".

Then he said we have to get very lucky to go 5-7 and not get blown out in our last 3 games.

His opinion was it is not going to get better and that the Russell deal has burned MSU's only recruiting area- East Miss and specifically Meridian. His premise was Meridian folks all thought Russell was an NFL QB of the future and Mullen has done nothing with him.

Finally, back to an old discussion he said that the Jones leak was propaganda that has really back fired and made Ole Miss look
like they are now the only player in MS.

What are you hearing?

Robbie?

We went back and forth about the Jones interview and that is not the purpose of this post.

During our discussions you mentioned the the news was about ready to break! I think you either said or intimated that Ole Miss there was going to be news on Ole Miss and the NCAA forthcoming quickly.

I realize time flies but I think that was 2.5 months ago and the NCAA has not contacted Ole Miss or any of its players.

I guess my question is what are you hearing now?

I am not flaming or trolling I am just trying to get some information if it is out there.

Several Honors for Bulldogs this week.

Malcolm Johnson started the day off being named the College Football Performance Awards Tight End of the week. Against UK, Johnson had 4 catches for 70 yards and a touchdown. It was a career day for the junior.

Jameon Lewis was also honored today for the Paul Hornung Honor Roll as one of three top performers from the Paul Hornung list for the nation's most versatile player. It was the second time this season that Lewis has been awarded that honor. Saturday, Lewis had 7 catches for 53 yards and a touchdown, two carries for 22 yards and a touchdown and a 17-yard touchdown pass. It was the second time this season that Lewis rushed, passed and threw for a touchdown. He also had three kick returns for 47 yards.

Finally, Gabe Jackson was named the SEC's offensive lineman of the week for the second time this season. During the Kentucky game, the ESPN talent gushed over Jackson and his consistent dominance on the line at left guard. He's widely considered one of the top two or three guards in the country this season
