As I have reported since taking over here last month, Mississippi State remains in the mix for George County defensive back M.J. Daniels.
Daniels, who was once thought to project as a cornerback at the next level, is being recruited by the staff at safety.
He is set to release a top three later today, one that I believe will surprise many that have been keeping track of his recruitment lately.
Secondly, I am hearing things have picked up recently with La. defensive back Jardin Gilbert. GIlbert released a top five that included schools like Alabama, Southern, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and the Bulldogs of Mississippi State.
The staff have spent quite a bit of time talking with him this week, and while it doesn't seem that they are the leader or anything at this time, there is definitely some positive momentum there.
I'll have coverage of the post-practice media afternoon later today, and whatever else might come up.
