Greetings from Atlanta, Rivals held the annual 5-star Challenge on Thursday and a few Mississippi State targets were in attendance. The main one to focus on is OL Jacob Hood who is one of the largest humans I've ever seen in my 15 years covering these type of events 6'8" 370. His shoes are more than double the size of mine and I don't have small feet. He really likes Mason Miller and has a lot of interest in Miss State. He wants to come down for a game in the fall and check things out.
DE J'Mond Tapp also is still considering a trip to Starkville and remains in touch with the Bulldog coaches. If he survives his trip to Austin on June 25th without a commitment, I think he will be in play later. He has had a strange recruitment.
On the strange side, 4-star DE Quency Wiggins said State has basically dropped him. He said they have stopped communicating with him and he has dropped them off his list of schools he is considering.
Due to the pandemic, it was a very Georgia-centric 5-star event as we did not fly kids in like we normally do so that altered things quite a bit. So lots of local Atlanta area kids rather than the even mix it usually has.
Friday will be our underclassmen challenge and there may be some State targets there as well.
