Also, with the Mullen to Maryland rumors that I mentioned on the board a few days ago, that is now doubtful to happen. Maryland is after DJ Durkin and Mark Richt.

Here is what UGASports.com wrote about Dan Mullen on their horboard. https://uga.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1831023

Scouting Report: Given his ties to Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity, it should be no surprise to see Mullen's name on the list. The two worked closely during Mullen's very successful tenure with the Gators, where he famously served as quarterback coach to Heisman winner Tim Tebow, among others. With Mullen at the offensive helm, the Gators secured two national championships, which lead to Mississippi State seeking him for their head coaching vacancy in 2009. Since then, the Bulldogs have gone 54-34, and rose all the way to number one in the polls during 2014, a first for the school. Mullen has continued his knack for quarterback development with Dak Prescott, another in a long line of successes, including the aforementioned Tebow and former NFL number one overall selection Alex Smith. While he seems quite happy in Starkville, it is believed that Georgia would be a very intriguing option for Mullen.

Pros:
Strong track record of developing quarterbacks, has delivered historic success at Mississippi State, championship experience, experience recruiting the south, ties to Greg McGarity

Cons:
Somewhat limited recruiting success in Starkville

Intangibles:
Mullen is a must watch name because of his McGarity ties. His is a popular name in many searches, but that connection may be enough to put the Bulldogs over the top.
