Hey y'all, just getting a chance to post here, but I talked last night with one of State's newest offers (I'll compile all of them hopefully tomorrow), Southridge (Fla.) 2026 DE Kamron Wilson. I'll tell you that this kid isn't ranked now, but his film has circulated and he's picked up some solid offers. So, I expect him to be at least a high three-star.
Wilson claims 19 offers, including from Ohio State, though I'm not fully sure on that one just yet. I can tell you State offered this week and joins a list that includes Nebraska, Ole Miss, Illinois, Michigan State and Minnesota.
Not surprisingly, Wilson has never been to Starkville. But he told me he plans on visiting next season (that's a long ways off) and likely for a spring practice. The Bulldogs hope to get him before then, but it doesn't sound like that will happen. Wilson did tell me, "They came a long ways. That’s a winning program and they look like they’re gonna dominate this season."
Wilson also told me the coach who offered and the main one he's talked to from State is assistant coach Corey Bell. That makes sense since Bell is one of the lead recruiters in south Florida. But since David Turner hasn't talked to him, that tells me that Wilson is likely in the second tier of recruits, so a backup if others fall through.
The school to watch here most appears to be Minnesota. The Gophers got in last fall with an offer, but were talking to him well before that. That's the only solid visit Wilson has as of the moment, to Minnesota on Feb. 1. He told me he plans to be at Syracuse in March, but there's not a set date.
This recruitment is simply one to note, unless State solidifies him for a visit in the next month or two. I can tell you the effort is there. The Bulldogs would like to get him on campus, it just doesn't sound like it's imminent right now.
Full story coming.
