6. South Carolina: North Carolina in Charlotte, Central Florida, The Citadel, Clemson. A decent ACC program that's also a rivalry game (both schools like to be called Carolina), a great ACC program that's a bitter rival (Clemson) and a really good mid-major (Central Florida).
12. Florida: New Mexico State, East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Florida State. The Gators stand out from the SEC crowd on three fronts — Florida State is tougher than most marquee foes, there is no I-AA foe and East Carolina can be a total load as a mid-major.
29. Georgia: Louisiana-Monroe, Southern U., Georgia Southern, at Georgia Tech. Georgia Southern is an up-and-comer -- it won the Sun Belt in its first year.
34. Alabama: Wisconsin in Arlington, Middle Tennessee, Louisiana-Monroe, Charleston Southern. After the game at JerryWorld, nothing to get excited about.
37. Texas A&M: Arizona State in Houston, Ball State, Nevada, Western Carolina. ASU-A&M at Reliant Stadium (I still call it Reliant)? That's an intriguing game.
40. Tennessee: Bowling Green in Nashville, Oklahoma, Western Carolina, North Texas. Hard to criticize an organization that gives us Sooners-Volunteers on the banks of the Tennessee River. But not much past OU.
44. Auburn: Louisville in Atlanta, Jacksonville State, San Jose State, Idaho. Auburn-Louisville is an excellent game. But those other three? Ugh.
46. Kentucky: Louisiana-Lafayette, Eastern Kentucky, Charlotte, Louisville. About the same as Auburn. At least Auburn is playing the 'Ville on a neutral field.
48. Ole Miss: Tennessee-Martin, Fresno State, New Mexico State, at Memphis. Interesting schedule. Two absolute lightweights, but two other teams that could beat you if the moons align.
50. Missouri: Southeast Missouri State, at Arkansas State, Connecticut, Brigham Young in Kansas City. BYU is a legitimate foe. This would be a decent schedule if UConn hadn't dropped off the face of the Earth.
53. Arkansas: Texas-El Paso, Toledo in Little Rock, Texas Tech, Tennessee-Martin. Not a great schedule, but give the Razorbacks credit. It's better than they used to play.
57. Vanderbilt: Western Kentucky, Austin Peay, at Middle Tennessee, at Houston. Vandy better go 3-1 against this quartet but has a better chance of going 2-2 than 4-0.
60. LSU: McNeese State, at Syracuse, Eastern Michigan, Western Kentucky. McNeese State almost won at Nebraska last season, but I think we can be fairly certain that McNeese State will not come close in Baton Rouge.
62. Mississippi State: at Southern Miss, Northwestern State of Louisiana, Troy, Louisiana Tech. A horrible schedule, unbefitting a school that made national headlines in 2014, but at least the Bulldogs are going to Hattiesburg. They've been just once since 1978, and that in 1989.
