Welcome to the Daily Blitz. The work day, for most, is coming to an end, and at 6pm each weekday, I'll recap the day that was in recruiting, as well as give an outlook on what I've been
Let's get started..
*** I caught up with Jaydon Hood last night, shortly after he received the offer from the Bulldogs. Hood and new MSU coach Jamar Chaney built up a special relationship in his time at UF, even though the Gators never "officially" entered the picture with an offer.
Said Hood about his relationship with Chaney: "It's a great one. He is relatable and real, which is important. There are a lot of coaches (in this process) that just tell you what you want to hear. He is not one of them."
While at Florida, Chaney was ready to offer Hood before things beyond his control kept him from being able to do so.
Hood was one of Chaney's first 2021 calls, and the fact that he was able to give him the offer made the conversation that much more special.
"He told me that he used to play my position, and that he sees me as a beast. We've talked before and I know he likes how I play. Spoke with coach (Dave) Emerick as well who said the same and said that they are looking to see me dominate this senior year.
He remains currently committed to Michigan.
***That wasn't the only offer that Chaney gave out in the Class of 2021 though, as Rockledge (Fla.) ATH Raheim Sanders also added an offer from the staff.
Sanders, like Hood, is already committed somewhere, but the offer has caught his attention. He spent some time on Wednesday night doing research on the school, the program, and the coaches.
Look for more on Sanders in the coming days.
Lastly, the staff continued their efforts in the state of Texas on Wednesday, sending out an offer to Tex. LB Harold Perkins.
Perkins and I were in touch on Wednesday, and he was honestly pumped up about the offer. Perkins is planning to schedule a visit to Starkville as soon as he is able to.
