MSU Soccer Announces 2017 Signing Class
STARKVILLE, Miss. – A dozen new players will join first-year Mississippi State coach Tom Anagnost’s 2017 Mississippi State soccer team when the ball is kicked off this fall.
Eleven newcomers accompany freshman early-enrollee Kristen Malebranche,
who enrolled at MSU prior to the spring semester. The class includes four experienced transfers who are eligible to see the field immediately.
“With such little time and how the current recruiting landscape is, our staff did a very good job of putting this class together,” Anagnost said. “I believe we have added several starters, significant experience, leadership and depth to our current team. Every new player can help us in their own way both on and off the field.”
Anagnost praised the group’s character as well as the players’ love for the game.
“The character of this group is very high and fits extremely well with our team,” Anagnost said. “They are awesome people and great teammates who love to play the game. We are all really excited to get started.”
This year’s class marks Anagnost’s first signing class as MSU head coach. The 12 newcomers is the most by an MSU soccer team since the 2014 squad that had 18 new players.
