BREAKING Mississippi State fires baseball coach Andy Cannizaro

Mississippi State baseball coach Andy Cannizaro has been fired by the University.

In his first season Cannizaro had a 40-27 record and the Bulldogs reached the Super Regional. This season the team is 0-3 after being swept by Southern Miss.

Bulldog pitching coach Gary Henderson is expected to be named interim head coach for the remainder of the season. Henderson was previously the head coach at Kentucky and has a 258-199 career record.

We're being told official word should be coming very soon. This was a personal situation more than Cannizaro's coaching. With everything going on in the media today you can't take any chances in your personal life and schools can't afford the bad publicity.

Not sure coach hired this young lady. Just 2 young people doing their thing. This situation is far different that our fat cousin in south Memphis has had with coaches, prostitutes, DUI's , NCAA issues, etc. Sure sex may have been involved but she was not a subordinate not a minor. Had her in laws not been "connected" this probably would have blown over.

Time for a Butch Thompson upgrade in 2019 anyway!
