Week Six - Saturday - SEC-2014
Florida Gators (3pt DOG) @ Tennessee Volunteers….
Gators have been known to walk up into a dog's back yard and SNATCH his ass up for a "Scooby Snack"!!!...So, Smokey, be on the lookout for a Florida Gator nosing around in your back yard!!! (aka Neyland Stadium)…….He should be easy to spot; he's usually sunning and when his backside gets really really hot, Coach Will Muschamp (aka MustyChimp) likes to sit on him. Apparently Florida's Coach Will Muschamp loves the hot seat. Well, if he doesn't win this week that seat might just get a little hotter!!! Tennessee's coach Butch Jones has this team going on the "Steady Eddie" path of success. They're improving at "warp speed" and will be competing for the SEC East title next year. This will be a straight up "Death Match" because this game will define both teams….Volunteers win but do not cover 33-31!!!
#6 Texas A& M Aggies (2.5pt DOG) @ #12 Mississippi State Bulldogs….
Bully, just wanted you to know that Texas A&M's mascot Reveille is a female Collie. Hey, that's all I'm sayin'; you can take and use that information however want to…..I'm just sayin'; she's not fixed!!!! These are the games that produce Heisman Trophy moments. Kenny Hill is currently listed in 2nd place in the Heisman Watch. And Dak Prescott is currently listed around 8th place……Both Dak Prescott and Kenny Hill will get a chance to showcase, showboat and make a statement this weekend. Personally, I believe both these guys are going to have a terrific day…………Ok, so who wins------------right????!!!!Last week's LSU match up was "Taylor Made" for the MSU's defense. LSU is a run first team; meaning, they like to est. the run to open up the passing lanes!!!…The strength of the Bulldog's defense is "Run Stop" and hey, that worked out pretty good for the puppies last week!!!!.....But, Texas A&M, on the other hand, is a pass first team; meaning, they use the pass to open up the running lanes!!!! This Bulldog secondary is" Taylor Made" for Aggies QB Kenny Hill. The Bulldog secondary gave up "big plays" all day to UAB. They also gave up some big plays to LSU late in the game. The only way the Bulldogs can stop Kenny Hill and that Aggie Offense is to put pressure on him every single play. That will be a difficult task to do for 60 minutes against this Aggies's NFL caliber offensive line. Despite a good showing at the LSU game; I'm still not sold on the Bulldogs kicking game. State's kicker, Evan Sobiesk, has been "Hot-Cold and EXTRA COLD"!!! Sobiesk not been subjected to the real pressures of a clutch kick. When the game is on the line and everyone in the country is watching; it calls for "ice cold water" running in your veins. Can Sobiesk keep the SPIDERS out of his head long enough to make a clutch kick"??????? (TBD) After witnessing almost three missed extra points against UAB; needless to say, I'm not comfortable with the Bulldog's kicking game winning in a tight one!!!.....Then there's the ineffectiveness to defend against the "Deep Threat"!!!!Dog-gone-it!!!......Aggies win and pocket the points 44-42!!!
#3 Alabama Crimson Tide (6.5pt FAV) @ #11 Ole Miss Rebels….
Here's another Heisman Trophy game. Ole Miss's Bo Wallace currently listed in 6th place in Heisman watch. And Bama's Amari Cooper is listed in 10th place…….The stakes are "HUGE" for both team. This is the climax to the buildup we all have been waiting for since the start of pre-season. Both teams want to know the answer to the following question; HOW GOOD ARE WE?????? Somewhere after the long hand starts walking his way back towards the small hand of that big ole clock resting on top on the courthouse in the Square, we shall have our answer!!!(Or for the layman, sometime after 6 o'clock)...The envelope please!!!……….THE WINNER IS----------well, let me tell you a story first. Have you ever heard of the story of "Loose Cannons"??? The cliff note version goes something like this: There was a Captain and his ship sailing the high seas, they got caught up in a hurricane and his 1st mate forgot to tie down the cannons before getting into rough seas. This was his only job. Well, when the boat sailed into the hurricane the loose cannons almost destroyed the ship and killed everyone on board. But thank goodness for the bravery of the 1st mate. During the storm he risked his own life to tie down the cannons which ultimately saves the lives of everyone on the ship. The next day they gave him a medal and then turned around and shot him!!!!...Here's another summary of Bo Wallace's career: For every 4 great plays he makes; expect at least 2 bad ones!!!........Bo Wallace's decision making is questionable at best……Ole Miss's defense keeps them in this game but as the sayin' goes; to be the "Man", you have to beat "THE MAN"!!!.........Bo Wallace is not "THAT MAN!!! Tide wins and covers 27-17!!!
Vanderbilt Commodores (34pt DOG) @ #13 Georgia Bulldogs….
Probably the most intriguing part of this game will be the battle that takes place between the university mascots. Georgia's bulldog mascot named UGA vs. Vanderbilt's mascot named Mr. Commodore. Or as UGA likes to refer to him; Captain Stubing from the "LOVE BOAT"!!!!....Yeah, come on board; it's exciting and new-----the loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee boat!!!!........UGA will be eyeballing Captain Stubing's nice sturdy leg during pre-games and by halftime he will be smoking a cigarette!!!...This game isn't in question but the spread is……Vandy continues to get better each and every week and they know they probably aren't going to win but I expect great effort on their part even when they find the game is out of reach…Vandy's Coach Derek Mason is just trying to find out who really wants to play!!! He's looking for "EFFORT" right now; not wins!!!.......Attn: GEORGIA COACHING STAFF, don't over complicate!!!!...................Gurley right, Gurley left (repeat)!!! Dawgs win but do not cover 48-21!!!
#15 LSU Tigers (8pt DOG) @ #5 Auburn Tigers….
Coach Miles went into his magical hat last week to pull out a rabbit but instead of finding a rabbit he found his new starting QB…There's a new sheriff in town and his name-------QB Brandon Harris!!! Harris was the QB "Less" Miles inserted at the end of the MSU game to perform mop-up duty and Harris brought the Tigers back from being down 3 TDs with less than 3mins against Miss State to almost pull off the miracle!!!....Last week, he got the nod to run the show against New Mexico. And boy did he; the Bayou Bengals pounced on the Aggies of New Mexico 63-7!!!....This week, Mr. Harris gets a chance to showcase his skills against a team that actually has a defense!……Despite Auburn's struggles on offense, one thing is for sure, Auburn's defense is legit!!!.......DL Montravius Adams a true sophomore that is quickly becoming a star in the trenches and the ditches!!! Also, with the two Jonathans (Mincy and Ford) locking down the secondary and LB Cassanova McKinzy lighting up "anything-n-everything" that crosses his face; the Tigers are STOUT on "D"!!!....And they better be!!!...Despite the fact that Brandon Harris is a true freshman he was nationally ranked as the #2 Dual Threat QB coming out of high school last year!!! That's higher than fellow teammates and soon to be EX-LSU QB Anthony Jennings(and for the record, he was ranked higher than Texas A&M's Kenny Hill coming out of high school)…and that my friend; is why I'm picking LSU to upset Auburn this weekend!!!...Bayou Bengals win and pocket the points 35-34!!!
South Carolina Gamecocks (4pt FAV) @ Kentucky Wildcats….
You should be able to pick up 50 yard line seats at this game for about the same price you would pay for a happy meal at McDonalds!!!....just sayin'….South Carolina's offense looks the part of a "Fighting Gamecock" but the defense; yeah, they just "flat-out" look chicken!!!............On the other sideline, Kentucky's defense looks like a bunch of Wildcats (in heat) running around in a cucumber patch!!!!! They are HOT and READY TO GO!!! But, Kentucky's offensive is-----------MEOW!!!……Well, you get the picture!!!................Can the Gamecocks answer the bell this week after getting KO'ed in the last round last week???......Can Kentucky not be thinking about basketball for one weekend??? Inquiring minds want to know!!! It will be a tall order for the Cocks considering this game is a road trip but at the end of the day, the biggest cock of them all--------------COCKY (aka Steve Spurrier) finds a way to win!!!...........................Gamecocks win and cover 24-17!!!
