STARKVILLE – For the ninth consecutive edition of the poll, Mississippi State football is among the Top 25 of the College Football Playoff Rankings as the Bulldogs were unveiled at No. 21 on Tuesday night.

Below are some notes on MSU’s ranking:

·With a 6-4 record, State is the highest ranked four-loss team in the poll and one of only two four-loss teams in the Top 25, joining Northwestern.

·All four of the Bulldogs’ losses occurred to teams in the current top 20, including three on the road. Those four teams have a combined record of 32-8 (No. 1 Alabama, No. 7 LSU, No. 13 Florida and No. 17 Kentucky). State held the No. 1 ranked team to its lowest point total (24) and lowest offensive yardage total (305) of the season last Saturday in Tuscaloosa.
