As is being confirmed by everybody, Ben Howland it is for Mississippi State. At previous stops he's proven to be a winner, plays a tough/hard nosed style and has recruited from all over the country. Obviously, UCLA is a different job in terms of status than Mississippi State but the SEC is one coaches see as wide open. There's Kentucky and there's usually Florida but after that there's a tightly bunched group of teams that can all compete from year to year so Howland sees a situation he can turn around.
Probably enough talent already on hand for at least the NIT next season. Howland a little gruff personality wise so who he hires as assistants will be key. I'd be surprise if Korey McCray who has lots of southeast recruiting ties (helped run Atlanta Celtics, one of the most powerful summer teams in America).
