Two weeks after concluding action at the SEC Track & Field Championships, Mississippi State returns to competition Thursday at the 2013 NCAA East Preliminary Round, hosted by North Carolina A&T at Irwin Belk Track inside Aggie Stadium.

The event concludes Saturday, with the championship round to be held in Eugene, Ore., June 5-8.

"This is what you work for all season long," MSU coach Steve Dudley said. "Everyone knows what's at stake and what's needed to get to Oregon."

Both the men and women will be competing in seven events each. Excluded from the prelims are multi-events. The top 12 from each event advance to the nationals.
